A Belgian ammunitions collector offered to test some of his 120-year old 7 mm pinfire cartridges. Quite an expensive hobby since he paid €3,- each!
Of course this experiment had to be filmed. Three out of five cartridges wouldn’t fire. The movie clearly shows lots of pressure escaping between barrel and cylinder. This explains the little penetration power: the bullet scarily penetrated an 18 mm shelf before hitting a brick wall. A modern air gun has more penetration power!
